Nathan Sheppard - Singer/Songwriter/Performer
Nathan Sheppard is a singer/songwriter from the North Georgia area. Growing up in Savannah, at an early age, Nathan began singing in church on Sundays. In high school he learned the intricacies of tight harmony while singing in a two time Georgia state champion barbershop quartet. Drawing from those roots, and a heavy dose of seventies pop radio, Nathan developed his own style, featuring a unique mix of melodies and themes that seem familiar yet new. His influences are so vast and varied that identifying them is both easy and impossible.
Nathan began playing guitar during his senior year in high school. He wrote his first song within the first week he had the instrument. The immediate years that followed found Nathan learning hundreds of songs from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Donovan, and other songwriters form that era of seventies pop and folk music. Performing those tunes, and writing and performing his own music for the next twenty years, honed Nathans' skills as a performer and writer.
Several of Nathans' songs have been featured in TV and Movie soundtracks such as the motion picture “Blue Ridge Fall” and the WB Network’s “Nick Freno, licensed Teacher.” Nathan has shared the stage with acts such as The Neville Brothers, Matthew Sweet, Leon Russel, and Jefferson Starship.
Nathan has performed both solo and as part of several different bands from time to time throughout his career. His extensive original catalog highlights some of the various talented musicians he has worked with throughout the years.
The singer/songwriter that is Nathan Sheppard is truly an original entity. You’ll never find Nathan writing songs in a style based on the latest radio hit. So if you like something honest and simple, yet thoughtful and melodic, you have come to the right place.
